Publisher and educator Bruno Ceschel will guide participants through the complex process of taking a photographic project and editing it into a sequence suitable for a book. He will use case studies of publications he has edited including Fire in Cairo by Matthew Connors, Dalston Anatomy by Lorenzo Vitturi, and A Rock is a River by Maya Rochat. In each case, Ceschel will unveil the process and decisions that were needed to bring these award-winning titles to life.

Using ideas taken from cinematic narrative construction, Ceschel will also look at linear and nonlinear approaches to building a narrative across different genres of photobooks.

This masterclass is an opportunity to gain an insight into the key tasks that go into creating a great photobook.
