Live on Zoom
Today’s challenging times can sometimes feel overwhelming, so we have decided to investigate how contemporary photography and art can help us understand, interrogate and possibly see the world we live in differently. The classes will not only consider photography as a means of recording history in the making, but also as an agent of change.
We have asked four remarkable thinkers to explore pressing issues through the work of contemporary photographers, in a series that will support and stimulate, and offer a weekly space for thought and exchange.
The World We Live In series will take place every Thursday in October. Each masterclass will include two hours of teaching. Purchase all 4 masterclasses and 8 hours of teaching at the special price of £30 instead of £40 – meaning one lecture is on us!
Thursday 8 October Contemporary Photography and Activism with Mariama Attah
Thursday 15 October Contemporary Photography and Queerness with Drew Sawyer
Thursday 22 October Contemporary Photography and the Environment with Kim Knoppers
Thursday 29 October Contemporary Photography and Capitalism with Estelle Blaschke
The ticket includes free access to the recording of the classes on Vimeo On Demand and a reading list curated by the speaker.
This classes will take place on Zoom. Those who register to attend will receive an email with a link to join the lecture through a computer or mobile device prior to the program start time. We recommend participants download the Zoom app on their device prior to the program.
